1About Study Punch
Study Punch (“Study Punch”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is an online education platform that helps students prepare for competitive and board exams. This Privacy Policy applies to our website www.studypunch.in, our Android app Study Punch on Google Play, and any related services, communities and communication channels (together, our “Platforms”).
We provide preparation for exams including:
Our study material includes crash courses, topper notes, formula sheets, important questions, mind maps, flash cards, strategy guides, sample papers, previous year questions (PYQs) and mock tests.
By using our Platforms, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
2Information We Collect
We only collect information that helps us serve you better. This includes:
a) Information you give us (students & users)
- Name
- Phone number (including WhatsApp number)
- Email address
- Address (city, state, PIN code or full address where needed)
- Education details such as class, qualification, stream or institution
- Exams you are preparing for and your study preferences
- Any messages, doubts, feedback or information you share with us through forms, email, WhatsApp or social media
b) Information from collaborators
If you apply or choose to work with us as an influencer, course promoter or content creator, we may also collect your social media handles and profile links (for example Instagram, YouTube, Facebook or Telegram), along with publicly available details such as follower count, to evaluate and manage the collaboration. Sharing this information is completely optional and only needed if you wish to work with us.
c) Information collected automatically
When you use our website or app, some technical information may be collected automatically, such as device type, operating system, app version, browser type, IP address, pages or screens visited, and general usage activity. This helps us keep the Platforms working smoothly and understand what content is most useful.
d) Payment information
If you purchase any paid course or material, payments are processed by secure, authorised payment partners. We do not store your card, UPI PIN or net-banking passwords on our servers. We may keep basic transaction records such as order ID, amount and date.
3How We Use Your Information
We use your information only for Study Punch and its Platforms, for purposes such as:
- Creating and managing your account and giving you access to notes, tests and courses
- Recommending study material relevant to your class and target exams
- Answering your questions, doubts and support requests
- Sending important updates like exam notifications, new material, test schedules and offers (you can opt out of promotional messages anytime)
- Processing orders and delivering purchased material
- Evaluating and managing collaborations with influencers, promoters and content creators
- Improving our website, app, products and services by understanding how students use them
- Keeping our Platforms safe, preventing fraud or misuse, and following applicable laws
4Sharing of Information
Your data is used solely by Study Punch and our Platforms. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not directly share it with third parties for their own marketing.
We may share limited information only in these situations:
- Service providers who help us run our Platforms for example hosting, payment processing, SMS/email delivery and app analytics. They process data only on our behalf, only for that purpose, and are expected to keep it confidential and secure.
- Legal reasons, when we are required by law, court order or a government authority, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and Study Punch.
- With your consent, in any other case where you have clearly agreed.
Your data is safe with us. We never sell student information, and no one outside Study Punch can use your details for their own purposes.
5Cookies & App Permissions
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, keep you signed in and understand site traffic. You can block or delete cookies from your browser settings, but some features may not work properly without them.
Our Android app asks only for the permissions it needs to work (for example, internet access to load content, storage to save downloaded PDFs, or notifications for updates). You can manage these permissions anytime from your phone settings.
6Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, such as secure (HTTPS) connections, restricted access for authorised team members only, and trusted infrastructure providers. While no online system is 100% secure, we work continuously to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss or misuse.
If a data breach ever affects your personal information, we will take prompt action and inform you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
7Data Retention
We keep your information only as long as your account is active or as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. When it is no longer needed, or when you ask us to delete it, we delete or anonymise it, except where we must keep certain records (such as payment records) to meet legal, tax or accounting requirements.
8Your Rights & Choices
Under applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal information we hold about you
- Correct or update information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Delete your personal information and account
- Withdraw consent at any time (this will not affect processing already done)
- Opt out of promotional messages by replying “STOP”, using the unsubscribe link, or contacting us
- Raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer (see section 13)
- Nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in case of death or incapacity
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 13. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request.
9Account & Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your Study Punch account and related personal data (from both the website and the app) at any time:
- Email us at support@studypunch.in with the subject “Account Deletion Request”, from your registered email, or mention your registered phone number.
- Or send the same request to us on WhatsApp.
We will confirm your request and delete your data within 30 days, except for information we are legally required to keep.
10Students Under 18
Many of our learners, such as Class 10 and Class 12 students, may be under 18 years of age. If you are under 18, please use our Platforms and share your details with the knowledge and consent of your parent or legal guardian.
We do not knowingly use the data of children for targeted advertising or behavioural tracking. Parents or guardians who believe their child has shared information without their consent can contact us, and we will review and delete it.
Collaboration programmes (influencer, promoter or creator) are meant for users aged 18 or above, or for minors taking part with written consent from a parent or guardian.
11Third-Party Links
Our Platforms may contain links to other websites or apps, such as YouTube, Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram or official exam websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those services, so we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
12Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and for important changes we may also notify you on our website or app. Continuing to use our Platforms after an update means you accept the revised policy.
13Contact & Grievance Officer
For any questions, requests or complaints about this Privacy Policy or your data, please contact our Grievance Officer. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 24–48 hours and resolve them within 30 days.
